Fareham College welcomed Simon Shaw, Global Artistic Director for Wahl, to inspire and demonstrate to students and industry leaders, new cutting and clipper techniques.
Salon bosses and their teams, as well as college students past and present attended the event at Fareham College’s Bishopsfield Road campus, many of whom study at the College’s The Academy Barbering, which teaches students the skills they need to work in the Barbering industry.
Simon created three distinct styles with clippers and combs, demonstrating new techniques, and new equipment, while engaging and interacting with the audience and stating, “When you look after your career, it will look after you.”
Sarah Ghassemi, Faculty Director for Creative Industries at Fareham College said, “We are incredibly privileged to be able to welcome such a prolific name from the world of Barbering to the College to present to qualified and aspiring barbers and show them in detail new techniques which they can use with their clients. We are extremely fortunate to have newly refurbished industry-standard facilities and our Barbering Lecturer, Lloyd Hughes is an industry expert who, as well as lecturing at the College, owns four Barbering businesses.
Fareham College, Barbering Lecturer, Lloyd Hughes, added, “At Fareham College we are working with the industry to deliver tailored courses to an extremely high standard, always adapting the course content to fit in with how the Barbering world evolves. The Academy Barbering is a unique facility and our links and endorsement from the Barbering industry ensure that it is unrivalled in its ability to deliver state-of-the-art training which meets the needs of employers. We have changed the way we deliver courses in order to increase the quality of candidates who enter the Barbering world.”
