Fareham College Celebrates Results Day Success!
Fareham College students smashed expectations on national results day today as dozens arrived at the college’s Bishopsfield Road campus to pick up their certificates in further education.
One in five students completing their Level 3 BTEC Extended Diplomas achieved the highest possible grade of D*D*D* (a Triple Distinction), which is equivalent to top A* and A grades at A Level.
Nearly two thirds of students meanwhile (63%) achieved the highest grades available in their chosen discipline, while overall the college celebrated its students achieving advanced level pass rates of 98.9%.
Fareham College Principal, Nigel Duncan said: “Fareham College students have achieved an exceptional set of results this year and I couldn’t be happier for them. Their achievements are testament to their hard work in the classroom, as well as the top-class facilities and quality of teaching that we pride ourselves upon, across both our Bishopsfield Road and CEMAST campuses.
“I wish to congratulate all of the students who received their certificates and diplomas today and wish them every success for the future.”
Some of the students who returned to College to receive their results spoke of their desire to go on to higher education, while others have already decided to take up careers in a wide range of professions.
Bethany Mckenna (18) from Sholing in Southampton, who was awarded a triple distinction in Applied Science Level 3 BTEC said: “I chose to study at Fareham College because I’ve always preferred coursework over exams so knew the course would be right for me.

Her mum, Louise, added: “I am really, really proud of what she has done. She was worked so hard. I know how much work she has put in.”
Rachel Hernandez (18) from Emsworth meanwhile, who received a Triple Distinction in her Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) Level 3 BTEC, spoke of her excitement about joining the prestigious performing arts college The Centre (PAC) in Rochester.
“I’m was shocked to get my results and really happy to go on to dance at PAC. Fareham College has been amazing in supporting me throughout my studies.”
