Fareham College Shortlisted for EBP South’s Amazing People Awards
Fareham College are pleased to announce they have been shortlisted in EBP South’s prestigious ‘Amazing People Awards’ for the category of Amazing Education Establishment Who Promote Careers Education.
The ‘Amazing People Awards’ are designed to thank and reward people for their dedication and commitment to helping young people develop real work skills through a variety of events and activities from work experience to mentoring.
Fareham College are excited to be attending the awards ceremony held at the Solent Hotel & Spa in Whiteley at the end of November to find out if they are winners of their category. The evening will celebrate the achievements of the many individuals, organisations, businesses, schools and colleges, and the priceless contribution they make supporting young people in their progression into the world of work.
EBP South (Education, Business Partnership South) is a registered charity, established in 1997, who have 20 years’ experience in providing career inspiration, preparation and experience to young people. Their mission to inspire and prepare young people for the world of work is strongly advocated by Fareham College, who constantly seek to empower their students through activities such as direct work experience as well as collaborative learning with their top links to employers.
Fareham College has recently renovated their Employment Hub, which is an innovative and exciting provision offering students a comprehensive range of services to improve their employability skills and presence in the job market.
Current students can receive help and support to assist in securing part-time work to enhance and fit in with their programmes of study. For those students coming to the end of their studies and wishing to progress into full time work, they have access to advice and guidance about what jobs are available, how to present themselves at interview, and how best to promote their key strengths.
Enterprise and Employability Co-ordinator, Leon Buteux, said: “Fareham College are committed to broadening the horizons of young people so they can reach their future potential, so we are delighted to have been recognised for all our efforts. Employability is an extremely important part of any young person’s education and empowering them to be the architects of their own career aspirations by assisting our students to achieve their dream careers is something we pride ourselves on.”
