This year marks the first time T Level students are graduating, and students at Fareham College have excelled in these courses achieving an incredible 100% pass rate with 74% achieving high grades, at merit to distinction*. To achieve the T Level qualification, all these students completed exams, project work and an industry placement of a minimum of 45 days.
Fareham College was among a select few outstanding colleges across the country to begin to deliver T Level qualifications in September 2020, achieving an incredible 100% pass rate for first year T Level students studying Digital Production Design and Development.
The first year of T Level graduates have secured a range of destinations, including attendance at universities such as Lancaster, Portsmouth, Bristol, and Chichester. Some students have chosen to pursue a Higher Technical Qualification at Fareham College, with others embarking on employment, some with their industry placement providers through Degree Apprenticeships.
Digital Production, Design and Development student Tom secured a Degree Apprenticeship in Digital Marketing through his industry placement provider CETCH Business Solutions. Speaking after collecting his results today, Tom said, “I’m excited to get started; from September, I will be working four days a week with CETCH with 1 day studying at Chichester University. The T Level helped me to identify what I would like to do in the future, and I can’t praise the placement enough. I am so pleased I chose a T Level!”
Overall, 97.4% of students at Fareham College studying Level 3 qualifications passed, with over 60% of these students achieving high grades, at merit to distinction*.
Level 3 Business student Alannah also picked up her incredible results, achieving Distinction*, Distinction*, Distinction, securing her place at the University of Surrey to study International Business. Alana commented, “these results mark the end of a happy two years at Fareham College. I have learned so much and feel prepared for my next steps. During the course, I completed a variety of work placements, my favourite being working alongside the Executive Team at Fareham College. I was trusted in this role to work on complex and challenging projects supporting the wider college.”
Deputy Principal, Curriculum, Quality and Innovation Christian Allen-Kotze commented; “As a College community, we are exceptionally proud of the achievement of all students collecting their results today. The incredible pass rate across the board is testament to the dedication of students, teaching staff and our outstanding facilities, all of which foster a learning environment for individuals to excel.”
Principal and Chief Executive Andrew Kaye added, “This is the first year T Level students are graduating following their two-year programme. I would like to extend my congratulations to all students collecting their results and my thanks to the teaching staff whose support, guidance and dedication ensured these incredible results. The results achieved, especially those in our T Level courses, are evidence of the excellent quality of teaching at Fareham College. Students completing exams this year will have done so for the first time since all exams were suspended during the pandemic and so students should be very proud of their achievements. I very much look forward to seeing the students build upon their success in the future.”
