In light of the ever-changing situation related to Coronavirus and COVID-19 this update is to provide you with the current situation at Fareham College.
We continue to follow the Government and Department for Education guidance for schools and colleges. As the situation develops, we will update parents and carers as and when we receive changes to the guidance we are given.
We have not had any confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the College. It is likely that, as the number of cases increase nationally, then the number of cases in the community will increase. We will not be alone as an employer and an education provider in having to respond to the issue. In doing so we will follow advice from Public Health England, NHS & Department for Education and will communicate with you our next steps.
We have already taken a number of actions to secure the welfare and well-being of our students and staff. These are communicated on our website. The website will be further updated as the situation develops.
At this point, the Government advice is, If your child has a new continuous cough and/or high temperature (37.8 degrees or higher) they should stay at home for 7 days. If your child is experiencing these symptoms and is self-isolating, please contact the College attendance line on 01329 815200 or email: attendance@fareham.ac.uk
This is a rapidly changing situation and we respect the decisions that parents may be making for themselves and their families, particularly if there are other vulnerabilities in the family home and beyond. We support anyone who makes the decision to self-isolate and will ensure we support your child’s education by updating all learning materials onto our Virtual Learning Environment (Oracle) site.
